I was asked by an art teacher for my school if I could make an illustration for our 2011 Cranes event (in celebration of 2011 and our school's being in the country for 100 years).
The event is inspired by the story of a Japanese girl, namely Sadako Sasaki, who was ill with leukemia. She believed that if she would be able to make 1000 paper cranes, she would get well. However, she was only able to make 644 before she died.
Cranes supposedly symbolize hope and peace. So I guess that's what my school wants us to show.
My teacher asked me to use colored pencils or whatever I was comfortable with. Though that also meant no digital stuff orz. Not like I can either since I lost my tablet pen in school. I'm so depressed orz.
Anyway, random girl on the drawing. She's supposed to wishing on the origami crane. She puts all her hope into it, hoping that her wish will come true.
